Refund Policy

Oz Barcodes provides retail barcodes for a once-off fee as a low-cost alternative to GS1 annual subscription fees. Our barcodes are suitable for consumer goods (excluding books, magazines, pharmaceuticals, and variable-weight items) and are fit for use in the vast majority of retail stores in Australia and globally, subject to individual retailer requirements.

Barcode packages are supplied as digital goods. Once a barcode package has been issued, it cannot be recalled or resold without undermining the guarantee of global uniqueness.

Refunds

Change-of-mind:
Refunds are not provided if you simply change your mind, select the wrong quantity, or make an incorrect selection. Please review your order carefully to ensure it meets your needs.

Altered or misused barcodes:
Refunds are not provided if:

  • The supplied barcode images have been altered, distorted, or modified by you or your graphic designer, causing scanning failure.
  • The barcode is incorrectly printed, placed, or affected by packaging, design choices, or printing methods.

Retailer requirements:
Refunds are not provided if a retailer requires direct GS1 membership. Retailer vendor requirements are the responsibility of the vendor. To our knowledge, in Australia, only Woolworths and Super Retail Group require direct GS1 membership, and this is clearly stated on our FAQ and Barcode Acceptance pages. No barcode supplier can guarantee universal acceptance.

Prefix expectations:
Refunds are not provided if you expect a barcode starting with a “93” or “930–939” range (issued by GS1 Australia). Our barcodes start in the 060–089 range, as clearly stated on our purchase page and illustrated in our examples.

Refunds at Our Discretion

If, at our discretion, a refund is approved, we may require:

  1. A written statement confirming the barcode number range supplied will not be used, assigned, transferred, or distributed; and/or
  2. Proof that you have licensed an equal or greater quantity of barcodes directly from GS1.

If a refund is issued, the barcodes sold will be retained by our company and archived as invalid for use. This status will be reflected on the gtinlookup.org database.
