SSCC-18 (Serialised Shipping Container Codes)

SSCC-18 (Serialised Shipping Container Codes) are 18-digit barcodes used by companies to track logistics units, typically pallets that contain a combination of trade items packaged together. These barcodes are often used for pallets of multiple cartons, each displaying an ITF-14 Carton Code.

Retailers with distribution centers, such as Woolworths and Coles, typically require SSCC-18 barcodes for tracking pallets within their facilities.

The SSCC barcode is a unique identifier that allows retailers to track each pallet as it moves through their distribution centers or warehouses. These barcodes are sequential, with each new pallet receiving a unique SSCC-18. Once an SSCC-18 is used on a pallet, it is typically discarded and a new one is generated for the next pallet.

For example:

  • The first pallet would use 00706502753100000(8).
  • The next pallet would use 00706502753100001(5), and so on.
